“I’m blessed and highly favored!” We have these great sayings that we so often speak, but the question arises do we truly know what it means to be “blessed and highly favored”. We speak so much without the revelation of what is coming out of our mouth! We will endeavor to answer that question in this article.
Think of the lives of various characters in the bible such as Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, and even Jesus, and we see that they all were blessed! In studying the lives of these great men, we see that God’s blessing was so much more than something we say after a sneeze, but THE BLESSING is something that is literally pronounced upon an individual, which in turn empowers them to succeed in the venture that God has called them to do. In Gen 1:28 we see where THE BLESSING of God is first mentioned, and rather than casually skim the surface of this original conversation between God & Mankind, it would benefit us all tremendously to search out what THE BLESSING truly is. So the question arises what is it that we have been blessed with? Or how have we been blessed?
In Gen 1:28, we begin to discover the true blessing of God or you can say it like this, the perfect will of God for Mankind. Gen 1:28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
This pronouncement of blessing to Adam was the PERFECT will of God for man. God created him, and then God blessed him. So we see that Adam was created and then the very first word ever spoken by God to Man was THE BLESSING! God said be fruitful! God said multiply! God said fill the earth! God said to subdue, and to have dominion! We see the very desire that God has for his man! He has blessed us to succeed! That is why if you look at mankind, it’s in him to dominate, to rule the earth, to be in charge, to conquer, why? Because that BLESSING is within us a human, it’s been with us since we were in Adam loins. THE BLESSING that God spoke has been ingrained in the DNA of man from the beginning! Unfortunately, Adam sinned after the Deceiver came to them, thus forfeiting THE BLESSING and began to walk in the curse. So we see men like Alexander the Great, Napoleon, Hitler, and others, whose plan may have been twisted or for self-glorification, still had within them the desire to conquer, subdue, or rule the world. They had that because that is the original spoken word to Mankind and it hasn’t changed. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is the Lord He changes not! His will for man is still to …Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth, subdue, and have dominion.
As a New Testament believer THE BLESSING is not so much for us to rule the world and have everyone under our thumb, but we now have a new fight and its against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Eph 6:12) Our empowerment to succeed is focused over the enemy, sickness, lack, depression, fear, circumstances, anything anti-Christ. The first word in Gen 1:28 (message) is Prosper! This is God’s will for our lives! He wants us to prosper, and if we look, search, and study the scriptures we’ll see that it is God’s will for us to prosper always. 3 John 2 gives God’s perfect will for the New Testament believer …prosper and be in health even as our soul prospers.
So my question to you is when your asked how your doing and your response is “I’m blessed and highly favored” are you just saying what you think your suppose to say or do you have a revelation that when you say “I’m blessed!” that your speaking out the very will of God for your life from the beginning of creation! We must realize that we’re speaking “I AM BLESSED, I am called to succeed, I’m fruitful, I’m multiplying, I’m subduing the circumstances and satanic obstacles that try and hinder my life, I walk in a subduing nature over the entire enemy through Jesus Christ Himself, who gives me strength and authority to do so. I abound in the fruit of the spirit, which is love, joy, peace; long-suffering…God has blessed me to succeed in walking in the fruit of the spirit. He has empowered me to succeed in multiplying disciples for Christ and in teaching all nations that Jesus is Lord! He’s blessed me with the ability to multiply my family, my money, my investments and businesses! I’m abounding in life because of THE BLESSING! God has blessed me! That is what it means when we say “I’m blessed and highly favored!”
God has favored us a little bit lower than himself, yet above the angels (PS 8:5) so that we could go be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, subdue and have dominion over everything we face in life.

(Gal 3:13, 14, 29) Christ became a curse for me, even though Adam had THE BLESSING and blew it; Jesus came to bring that BLESSING back to us! Christ became the very curse, so we could be brought back into the very BLESSING that He set up from the beginning.
Thank God Jesus showed us the example of how one is to walk out a life totally marked by THE BLESSING! He walked out Deut 28:1-15. He was made a curse that THE BLESSING of Abraham might come upon us that are of faith. By faith we became the seed of Abraham. So please study out Duet 28:1-15, begin to discover that you are BLESSED! You’re blessed in whatever you put your hand to! You’re the head and not the tail, your above and not beneath! You’ve become a child of God and a joint-heir with Jesus Christ to the entire world. Thank God for THE BLESSING that He has spoken to us. We can now know when we say “I’m blessed” that we are saying more than a cliche, we are speaking forth God’s original recipe!
